GVSU Basketball Weekly Update: Don’t let the Lakers get hot!

Don’t look now, but both Grand Valley State Basketball squads are hitting their respective strides as they enter the second-round of GLIAC competition this weekend up in the Upper Peninsula.

This past weekend, the Laker Men and Women posted a perfect 4-0 weekend at home as the #1-ranked women remain atop of the GLIAC standings, while the men have now won four straight contests.

In addition, there were more GLIAC individual accolades dished out, and this time, one player on each team was recognized for their production on the defensive end:

Here’s what’s on tap this coming weekend as the Lakers hit the road to the U.P. for a pair of GLIAC matchups to begin the second-round of conference action:

GVSU MEN (10-8, 6-4 GLIAC)
– Thursday, January 30th at Northern Michigan Wildcats (8-8, 5-3) – 7:30 pm
– Saturday, February 1st at Michigan Tech Huskies (3-13, 0-8) – 2 pm

#1 GVSU WOMEN (20-1, 10-0 GLIAC)
– Thursday, January 30th at Northern Michigan Wildcats (12-6, 6-4) – 5:30 pm
– Saturday, February 1st at Michigan Tech Huskies (13-5, 8-2) – 12 pm
