The #2-ranked Grand Valley State Football team returned to Lubbers Stadium for a Family Day non-conference tilt against one of the best teams in Division III in the #5-ranked Wisconsin-La Crosse Eagles.
From the opening kickoff to the final whistle, it wasn’t easy for the Lakers as the Eagles took them to the limit, but ultimately it was GVSU who pulled out the 20-13 home victory to improve to 3-0 on the season.
With the loss, Wisconsin-La Crosse fell to 2-1 on the season.
This Saturday, the Lakers remain at home for their final non-conference game of the season as the 20th-ranked West Florida Argonauts fly up to Allendale for a 3 pm kickoff in the first all-time meeting between the two storied programs.
