The top-ranked Grand Valley State Football team had a tough go of things during Saturday’s Anchor-Bone Classic against the third-ranked Ferris State Bulldogs at Lubbers Stadium as the Lakers dropped their first game of the season in a 34-7 setback to fall to 7-1 overall and 3-1 in GLIAC play with three games remaining.

With the loss, GVSU fell to #6 in the media (D2Football.com) and #7 in the coaches (AFCA) polls nationally.
The Lakers will look to bounce back this Saturday in the final home game of the regular season at Lubbers Stadium in the Wooden Shoes Trophy battle against the winless Wayne State Warriors (0-8, 0-4 GLIAC) at 3 pm.
